Golden Calcite Flower

Golden Calcite Flower

Boost memory, stimulate insight, excellent for meditating

Origin

Calcite can be found throughout the world including Brazil, Germany, Romania, England, Canada, China, Pakistan, Mexico, Russia, and throughout the United States. Our Golden Calcite Flower is from Morocco.

General Description

Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. Over 800 forms of calcite crystals have been identified. It occurs in diverse crystal shapes and colors. Calcite is the primary mineral component found in cave formations. Most common color of calcite is white but it can manifest in almost every color imaginable depending on what impurities the mineral is charged with. Calcite mineral is extremely common and can be found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Dogtooth Calcite or spar are found in limestone caves formations and open spaces including veins, fractures, and geodes. They consist of very large calcite crystals which resemble dogs’ teeth (hense its name). These distinctive sharp-tooth shaped crystals can be a few centimeters long.

Commercial Uses

Calcite has more uses than almost any other mineral on earth. It is the principal constituent of limestone and marble and makes up a significant portion of the Earth’s crust. It is used in construction materials, abrasive, agricultural soil treatment, pigment, along with pharmaceuticals and other health and dietary applications.

Metaphysical Properties

Calcite is believed to be a powerful amplifier and cleanser of energy. Having the presence of Calcite in a room it will lower negative energy, fear and stress. Calcite is said to be an active crystal that speeds up development and growth physically, mentally and spiritually. Calcite is a spiritual stone that facilitates the opening of higher consciousness and psychic abilities.

Aragonite

Aragonite

Combats Anger, Acceptance, Patience

Origin

Aragonite deposits can be found in Spain, France, United States, Mexico, and Morocco.

General Description

(pronounced: uh*RAG*oh*nite) Aragonite is a carbonate mineral and it’s one of the 3 most common naturally occurring crystal forms of calcium carbonate. Aragonite is chemically the same as calcite and it is what gives mother-of-pearl it’s luster. Calcite and aragonite are both carbonates but the difference between these 2 minerals is in their crystal structure and symmetries. Aragonite are formed in marine and freshwater environments including precipitation. Various colors of Aragonite have been discovered from shades of yellow, orange, to blue, geen, and even pink. Aragonite was named after Molina de Aragon, a province in Spain where it was first discovered in the late 1700s.

Commercial Uses

Due to its low hardness scale, Aragonite is not usually faceted for jewelry. However, Aragonite is considered essential for the replication of reef conditions. Aragonite provides the materials necessary for sea life and also keeps the pH of the water close to its natural level. Aragonite has also been successfully tested for the removal of pollutants like zinc, cobalt, and lead from contaminated wastewaters. Some water conditioning manufacturers convert calcite into aragonite to reduce limescale.

Metaphysical Properties

Aragonite is said to foster truth and understanding. A wonderful mineral for people that are experiencing difficulties in their personal relationships, bringing calmness and insight to a difficult time. Aragonite also promotes discipline and motivation in people, providing insight into stressful situations, especially in business.

Ammonite

Ammonite

Luck, Prosperity,Childbirth

Origin

Found in mountains and sedimentary basins from the Devonian to Cretaceous periods throughout the world

General Description

Ammonite, also known as Ammonoid is a group of extinct cephalopods (such as squid, octopus, cuttlefish, or nautilus), a fossil that are found in shallow water to deeper oceanic conditions dating back to as early as 419 millions to 66 millions years ago. Ammonoids are important index fossils because of their wide geographic distribution in various marine conditions along with their rapid evolution, and easily recognizable features. Palaeontologists can link specific geologic time periods from rock layers in which Ammonites are found.

The name 'ammonite' originates from the Greek Ram-horned god called Ammon. In medieval times, fossilised ammonites were thought to be petrified coiled snakes, and were called “serpent stones”. They were considered to be evidence for the actions of holy saints and believed to have healing and mystical powers.

Metaphysical Properties

Ammonite is believed to bring luck and prosperity. It is said to alleviate trauma and help depression. It’s spiral pattern is thought to convert negative energy flow into positive energy flow (chi). Some also believe that Ammonite can support the process of childbirth and ease labor pain.
